‘furnishing your walls’

…this is how i like to describe my trade.

Rather than considering myself an ‘artist’, i am of the opinion that it would be an insult to the trained masters both living and dead.

Instead, i think have an eye for colour and a perhaps for design, and what i produce is essentially some attractive ‘furniture for your walls’.

My works are all original creations intentionally designed to add colour and ‘life’ to a room. They are largely geometric in nature as i find the contrast with the freeform lines of the subject matter pleasing to the eye.

My designs are inspired by the vibrant colours of the country I am fortunate to live in, and particularly the world-famous beauty of the reefs and rainforests found near my adopted home city of Cairns, Australia.

All works are acrylics on canvas (and are varnished for colourfastness and to enhance the depth of colour). I do not do prints. Each is painted by my own hand.

They are all highly textured, something hard to demonstrate on a website, but each colour on any work is sure to have some kind of texture that distinguishes from the other colours present.

The end effect is that the works can change appearance as the light changes during the day. Raised sections may cast shadows, metallics my reflect light, and like our sacred Uluru, the colours can adopt new hues.
